Hair Fair 2015 Wrap Up

Another Hair Fair event is behind us so I thought I would show some of the lovely styles available at this years fair.  In the collages above, the model is wearing eight of the generous free hairstyles that were given away for the event from different vendors.

As a general rule, I enjoyed the fair this year but all the sims were so packed it was darn near impossible to get access and once you were able to, it was very hard to navigate around to the different vendors because of the lag.  I made one quick visit in the first week but decided it would be better to come back closer to the end of the fair so I could take my time and get around a bit better when it was less busy.

I tried to visit most if not all the vendors, my only disappointment being that some were giving way hair bows or accessories rather than a sample of their hair.  All the free gifts were generous and the event is for a great cause so that is not so much a complaint as an observation.  Demos are nice but getting the complimentary hair allows you to wear it out and about in public, fall in love with it and come back for more!

Under the Boardwalk by the Sea

In my wanderings yesterday I found a delightful little boardwalk faire called
Le Petit Faire on the Boardwalk and I took a few moments to look around.  It's cute, it's kinda seaside shabby and there are really cool realistic looking seagulls flying all around.  As you can see in this picture I have a couple friends.  Mondo the mystic and Jonathan Livingston sitting on top of him.

There were some cute little beach shacks set up as small shops for several vendors, and this cute kitty riding spring thingy I simply couldn't resist!  The bottom of it has the huge spring you know the kids ride I'm talking about!  I opted to chill and enjoy the sun :-)

There was a hot air balloon ride there, and a ferris wheel also, a very cute place to visit for seaside ambiance.

So, before I left I decided to grab some popcorn, let Mondo read my fortune for me, and even took time to feed the seagulls!

Greetings From Shiny Shabby!

Greetings to all from the SL Shiny Shabby Event!  It was such a pleasure walking around this event it's a very quaint set up with adorable shabby chic charm.  It's set up to look like a small historical town with wrought iron benches and gas lamp street lights.

It was a little hard to navigate at first until everything got rezzed and I did change my windlight settings upon arrival so I could see things better.  The shops are set up around the center square, where there is a cool gypsy vardo with gifts available for group members.  (I'm crazy about all things gypsy... we'll get into that in later postings) so I had to take a pic with me sitting on the vardo!

There were many gorgeous items for sale here but the one that really caught my eye was these amazing Headbands/Wreaths from Ariskea.  I fell in love with them at first sight and I had to buy several to coordinate with all of my spring and summer dresses.  Don't these make you think about walking in a field of flowers on a warm summer day?  Like wearing a bit of sunshine!

Gown of the Week From FLOWERDREAMS by Nile Karas

As many of you know (or may not know) I have a franchisee partnership with one of Second Life's best designers Nile Karas, owner and designer of FLOWERDREAMS by Nile Karas.  We have a satellite store at the Sweethearts Shopping Plaza, it's located to the left of the landing area when you arrive at the club.

This gorgeous gown I am featuring this week is called "Ece" and it is available in two colorways at our store.  This is the lovely golden version, and the other one is done in rainbow hues.  It has a subtle sparkle to it and a "gleam from within" that does not show in the picture due to the studio windlight settings.  This gown is much more beautiful inworld, I'll be wearing it this evening at the club come take a look!

Okay so I am looking for cool shopping places to visit... and I find KUSTOM9 on the destination guide, apparently there are quite a few more of these shopping events with different numbers on the end of them.  So now I have even MORE places to spend my lindens *sigh* Retail therapy IS cheaper than a trip to the shrink so shop it is! KUSTOM9 has some really cute things I must say.  

While strolling around there I found some new hair (imagine that) and some REALLY awesome poses by IMEKA.  Once I tried them out I simply had to purchase them.  Eight super cute poses makes me want to visit their mainstore now!  When I see merchandise at fairs and events it makes me want to visit the granddaddy store so I can find even more things I cannot do without!

It's a pleasure to introduce myself to you and thank you for stopping by to check out my blog.  My name is Rhia and I LOVE FASHION!  Ever since I was a teenager I have followed fashion, via magazines and television, and even though I have not worn any six inch stiletto's in RL lately... I HAVE worn them in Second Life!  In fact I've worn some of the most beautiful designs ever created right here in this amazing virtual world.  Everything about fashion inspires me, transforms me, and dazzles me on a daily basis here in Second Life.  I hope to share some of my thoughts and musings about fashion with you here.  Stop by often because I will be updating this blog several times a week!
